The person behind the tile work
ABC Tiling is Gee Evlat. Not a franchise, not a sub-contracted team — Gee himself, on your floor, with his tools, doing the work.

Ten years of word-of-mouth reputation
He has been tiling homes across Greenhithe and the surrounding areas of Kent since 2016. In that time he has tiled kitchens, bathrooms, wet rooms, cloakrooms, orangery floors, loft conversion en-suites, and a good number of jobs that other tilers had started and left in a state. Across all of it, his reviews have stayed at 100% recommend. That is not a claim — it is a verifiable number, on his Facebook page, dating back to his first review in August 2016.
Gee did not build his business through advertising. He built it through the experience of one customer telling another. You will find his number in Greenhithe Facebook community groups, passed between neighbours in Longfield, recommended by a friend-of-a-friend in Gravesend. That kind of reputation is earned slowly and not easily undone.
His customers return. Several have booked him for multiple rooms over the years — kitchen one year, bathrooms the next, then calling again when they moved and needed the new house sorted. One reviewer noted that when the time came to tile a new property after moving, “there was no doubt in my mind who I was going to use.” That pattern appears throughout the reviews.
Gee has become our go-to tiling professional, and we can't envision choosing any other company for our home projects. His meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to the highest standards make the advance booking worthwhile.
How Gee works
The first visit matters. Gee will come to your home, look at the space properly, and spend time talking through the project — not a ten-minute survey with a figure at the end, but a genuine conversation about what you want and what will actually work in your particular room. He will flag things you may not have thought of: how the tile layout will read against the room proportions, which grout colour will age better, whether the wall prep is going to need attention before tiling can begin.
He is straightforward about what will and will not work in your space. Several customers have mentioned he told them honestly when an idea would not produce the result they were picturing — and that they were glad he did.
When the job starts, Gee is on site every day. He works methodically and tidily. He does not rush a job to move on to the next booking. If a job runs a little longer than estimated because something needs doing right, it runs longer.
“He is an absolute perfectionist on the tiling front and it shows in the work he’s done for us. Even added a few additions outside the bathroom area which my wife, son and I are eternally grateful for. A true tradesman and local legend.”
— Mark Brunton, February 2026
The people behind the projects
For straightforward tiling work, Gee works alone or with Tom and Tim who assist on larger jobs.
For full bathroom installations — where a project involves strip-out, new plumbing, and trade coordination — Gee works alongside Brian, known to many local homeowners as GetBry (07973 919015). Brian handles the plumbing side; Gee manages the tiling and coordinates the wider project including painters and electricians where needed.
The team has worked together on enough jobs that the coordination is straightforward — and customers consistently mention both Gee and Brian by name in their reviews.
“Brian, Gee, Tom and Tim done a great job in my downstairs cloakroom toilet. Great team who were helpful, dedicated and done a great job.”
Tile suppliers
Apex Tiles
For customers who want help choosing tiles, Gee will meet you at Apex Tiles in person and walk through the options with you. This is not an add-on service or a sales exercise — it is part of how he works. Knowing what tiles are going into a room before the job starts means no delays, no substitutions, and no surprises about how a tile looks at scale on a wall.
Topps Tiles
Gee has a trade account with Topps Tiles, which means customers benefit from trade pricing on materials. If you are sourcing tiles through Topps, mention ABC Tiling when you go in.
Period properties
A notable proportion of ABC Tiling’s work is in older homes. The Kent area has plenty of Victorian terraces, Edwardian semis, and the occasional 18th-century cottage where no wall is quite plumb and no floor is quite level. Gee is experienced with the preparation work these properties require — the floor levelling, the wall tanking, the careful work around old pipes that have to stay where they are.
“We live in an 18th century terraced cottage, and wanted to refurbish our kitchen. Once the project was underway, we knew we made the right decision as there were various unexpected hurdles to overcome, which Gee navigated expertly, ensuring we remained fully communicated with throughout.”

Greenhithe, Kent DA9
Gee lives and works in Greenhithe, DA9. When he takes on jobs in Gravesend, Stone, Longfield, Bean or New Barn, they are genuinely local — not a contractor driving from an hour away. That matters for availability, for response time, and for the simple fact that his reputation in these communities is built on living in them.
If you have a project in mind — whether it is a bathroom that has needed doing for years, a kitchen splashback that has been bothering you, or tiles somewhere in your home that have seen better days — get in touch. He will be straightforward with you from the first conversation.
Make sure you have a decent supply of teabags in. He takes his tea strong.
