ABC Tiling — Greenhithe, Kent

Full Bathroom Installations Kent

Getting a new bathroom means trusting several different tradespeople to show up in the right order, do their part, and not leave a problem for the next person to deal with. When that coordination breaks down — a plumber who does not communicate with the tiler, an electrician who reroutes a cable without telling anyone — the job gets extended, costs escalate, and the homeowner spends weeks chasing people.

ABC Tiling handles full bathroom installations end-to-end, with Gee managing the project from strip-out to final seal. He works with a trusted team: Brian (GetBry) for plumbing, plus painters and electricians where the job requires them. These are not random sub-contractors sourced per job — they are tradespeople Gee has worked alongside repeatedly, with a track record customers have consistently praised.

The result is a single point of contact for the whole project. You deal with Gee. The coordination behind the scenes is his problem, not yours.

What a full bathroom installation includes

Strip-out. The existing bathroom is removed — tiles, sanitaryware, floor covering, and any fixtures that are not staying. Waste is taken away. The room is left clean and ready for the next stage.

Structural checks and preparation. Before any new work begins, the state of the walls, floor and substrate is assessed. Any movement, damp, or deterioration is dealt with at this stage. In period properties, this often involves more preparation than a newer build.

Plumbing. Brian handles all plumbing work — relocating or extending supply and waste pipes to suit the new bathroom layout. New sanitaryware positions, shower trays, wet room drainage. The plumbing stage is done before tiling begins.

Electrical work. Extractor fans, shaver sockets, underfloor heating systems, and lighting changes are coordinated and scheduled around the other trades.

Waterproofing and tanking. Shower areas, wet rooms and anywhere subject to direct water contact are tanked — the substrate is sealed before tiling begins. This is a step that gets skipped in rushed jobs and creates problems years later.

Tiling. Gee tiles the room himself, to the same standard as a tiling-only project. Full walls, floors, feature walls, shower enclosures — whatever the design calls for.

Sanitaryware fitting. The bath, basin, toilet and shower are fitted once tiling is complete. Finishes — chrome, black, brushed brass — are matched across all fixtures.

Painting and finishing. Ceilings, any remaining wall surfaces, and woodwork are painted. The room is finished, not just tiled.

Final clean and handover. The bathroom is cleaned down and you walk through it with Gee to confirm everything meets the agreed spec.

Why project management makes the difference

Large bathroom companies offer "supply and fit" packages that bundle design, materials and installation into one contract. That is a different proposition to what ABC Tiling does — and it suits a different kind of customer.

ABC Tiling's full installation service is for homeowners who want a skilled, known tradesman in charge of their project rather than a company where the installer is whoever is available that week. The difference tends to show in the quality of the tiling specifically — Gee's standard of finish, which his reviews describe in detail, is not the same as the tiling produced by a large outfit where the fitter is moving between multiple jobs on a tight commercial schedule.

"He is not happy unless his customer is happy. Gee managed our loo refurbs expertly and professionally, organising the other professionals required and carrying out tiling to the highest standard. He works tirelessly to provide a perfect finish."

— Rosaleen Delaney, March 2026

The team behind a full installation

Gee Evlat — project lead and tiler. Manages the schedule, coordinates all trades, and is on site for the tiling work. Your first and main point of contact throughout.

Brian (GetBry) — plumber. Brian has worked alongside Gee on bathroom installations for years. His number is 07973 919015 if you need to reach him directly. Customers frequently mention both Gee and Brian by name in their reviews.

Painters and electricians — coordinated per project from reliable local contacts. The specific tradespeople involved are confirmed at the quotation stage.

"The cohesion between him and his team was second to none and the other contractors were equally brilliant, from the plumbing to the painting to the electrics. Thank you all there! Gee really looked after us from start to finish."

Bathroom installation — what to expect, week by week

Full bathroom installations vary in length depending on the size of the room and the scope of work. A compact cloakroom conversion can be completed in under a week; a large family bathroom with a new wet room and full floor-to-ceiling tiling will take two to three weeks. Here is a general sequence:

Days 1–2: Strip-out. Existing fixtures and tiles removed. Substrate inspected. Any structural remediation identified.

Days 3–5: First fix plumbing and electrics. New pipe runs and cable positions set out. This happens before walls are boarded or tanked.

Days 6–8: Wall preparation, boarding and tanking. New Aquaboard or waterproof plaster where needed. Shower areas tanked. Floor levelled.

Days 9–14: Tiling. Walls and floors tiled. This phase is longer than most homeowners expect — each adhesive bed needs time to cure before grouting, and grouting needs time before silicone.

Days 15–16: Second fix plumbing and electrics. Sanitaryware fitted once tiling is complete. Extractor fan, lighting and heated towel rail connected.

Days 17–18: Painting and snagging. Ceiling and any remaining surfaces painted. All finishing details addressed. Final clean.

Gee will give you a project-specific timeline at the quotation stage. He will also tell you honestly if the schedule needs to shift — communication throughout the job is something his customers specifically mention.

"The job was said to be 3 weeks initially but finished a few days before which was great. We had a budget which Gee was aware of and came in on par. He's very honest and will advise you what will work and what will not work in your space."

Tile choices for a full bathroom installation

Gee will talk through tile options during the site visit and can meet customers at Apex Tiles to help select tiles in person — a significant advantage when making decisions about how different tiles will read across a full room.

ABC Tiling has a trade account with Topps Tiles, and customers receive a trade discount on materials purchased there.

For full bathroom installations, the typical approach is: one or two tile types maximum to avoid visual fragmentation, porcelain or ceramic for the majority of surfaces, with a feature area — a wall behind the bath, a walk-in shower enclosure — where a different tile or format creates a focal point without overwhelming the room.

Frequently asked questions

What is included in a full bathroom installation? A full installation covers strip-out of the existing bathroom, plumbing for the new layout, any electrical work required, waterproofing and tanking of wet areas, full tiling of walls and floors, sanitaryware fitting, painting, and finishing details. The exact scope is confirmed in the written quote before work begins.

How much does a full bathroom installation cost in Kent? The cost of a new bathroom varies significantly depending on the size of the room, the extent of plumbing changes, the sanitaryware specified, and the tile choices. A straightforward cloakroom replacement is a very different proposition to a full wet room with floor-to-ceiling large-format tiles. Rather than publishing a figure that may bear no relation to your actual project, Gee provides a detailed written quote after a free site survey. Contact him to arrange one.

How long does a full bathroom renovation take? For a standard family bathroom with moderate tiling complexity and no major plumbing relocation, expect two to three weeks. Wet rooms, larger rooms, and projects with more extensive plumbing changes take longer. A cloakroom conversion can be done in under a week. The timeline is confirmed at the quotation stage.

Do you coordinate all the trades, or do I need to arrange a plumber separately? Gee coordinates all trades as part of a full installation. You do not need to find and manage a separate plumber or electrician. Brian (GetBry) handles the plumbing; other trades are brought in as needed and scheduled around the project.

Can you fit a wet room in a room that was previously a standard bathroom? Yes — wet room conversions from standard bathrooms are possible, though they require careful assessment of the floor construction and drainage options. Gee will give you an honest assessment of whether a wet room is feasible in your specific bathroom during the site visit.

We now have the bathroom of our dreams. He is very conscientious, hard working and helpful. Our bathroom had to be completely gutted, so it had to go through every stage of development, which was monitored all the way to completion by Gee.
